American’s could freely travel to the Soviet Union, Americans could freely travel to Apartheid South Africa, Americans could freely travel to Nazi Germany in the 1930’s, Americans can travel to North Korea and Saudi Arabia to this day — yet an American in Ft Lauderdale can’t travel on a 1hr flight south to the beautiful beaches of Cuba.
