The beach is largely un-spoilt with pearl white sand, clean emerald green water that gradually changes color to sapphire blue as you go deep into the bay. There are jungles around the area which make for excellent hiking trails.

As expected, there are plenty of hotels in the area. My experience is limited to the Avista Resort and Spa which in my opinion is one of the best Kata hotel.

The resort is located on top of Peach hill and looks over the bay. The club offers a splendid view of the sea. The pool area is great to lounge, if you do not feel like going to the beach. The outdoor swimming pool is large and landscaped with a stunning view of the sea.

The spa is excellent. The world famous Sukko Spa has a branch in this hotel. Try the After Sun Care Treatment, it is amazing.
